1. Tell us about yourself and what you do?
My name is Meenu Allawadhi and I run an institute by the name ‘Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya’ in Panchkula.
2. What inspired you to start a dance & music academy?
Since the beginning, I wanted to be a businesswoman and for this, I worked very hard. My son used to learn Piano and daughter took Kathak classes, which inspired me to start with a business in this field only.
3. One thing that you admire the most about your job?
People from all age groups can join our institute. A number of people like to engage in extracurricular activities after their retirement. Here, they get an opportunity to spend some quality time. That’s what I like the most about my job.
4. Did you face any bitter experience?
I faced a lot of challenges when I organized an event on behalf of ‘Tansen Sangeet Mahavidyalaya’. It was because I was all-new to this field at that point of time. But these challenges helped me learn a lot. Now after 3 years I can handle everything well and I am also able to rectify all of my mistakes. I am very excited about the upcoming events.
5. Why song and dance are important for a child’s development?
Dance is very important for a child’s physical development and provides fitness as well. On the other hand, music provides mental relief. Both music and dance are very important for a child’s overall development. It’s a scientific fact, that if a child plays instruments like piano or harmonium he will never suffer from heart diseases. Likewise, all instruments have a significant role to play.
6. A quality one should possess to make a mark in this industry?
I think if someone wants to work in this industry, Patience is a must. Patience + Hardwork= Success in this industry.
7. What are your plans and dreams for the future?
My dream is to start an NGO for women, which focuses on providing employment. I want to help housewives (willing to do something) and the unemployed ladies
8. A message you would like to convey to all the women out there.
I lived up my dream of becoming a businesswoman from being a housewife. Similarly, every woman possesses a unique quality, we should realize our inner capabilities and we should start living for ourselves. Live your life to the fullest!!
